We will have a short tour visiting stalls, that have been there for over 40 years, we will enjoy a colorful celebration of flavors, colors, smells and people. We will start by visiting the very first coffee house opened at Mahane Yehuda market, which operates until now and serves French style food. After that we will move on to the Hagas Street, where lives the largest and the most luxurious dynasty in the sphere of music and entertainment in Israel.
We will drop by a fish stall, where we will learn about different kinds of fish, ways of carving it and displaying it for the “shuk” visitors and buyers. And, of course, it’s a must to visit Uzieli, a Yemeni man, who specializes in preparing fresh juices meant to treat different diseases, help fighting aging and even improving your wealth. You will find there juices, creams and sprays made of passion fruit, wheat sprout, grapefruit, pomegranate and more.
Fuelled up with good energies we will continue our tour to the tehina and halva stalls, then proceed to the Iraqi market, where you will see groups of older men playing “shes-besh” – they come and try their luck at gambling every day for years and years.
We will finish our Mahane Yehuda market tour at Shem Tov restaurant, where we will taste delicious Israeli beer, from local breweries such as Shapira, Herzel and many others.

Our cooking class will be held at Shem Tov Restaurant, located in the heart of Mahane Yehuda market, at HaEshkol St. 4, Jerusalem. The restaurant exists over 3 years and it is known for its fresh authentic food loved by both locals and Jerusalem guests! Together with our chef, you will be preparing different courses of the meal.
The atmosphere during our cooking workshops is always very fun and relaxing, we will make sure you feel like at home. Our chef knows to handle large groups and groups of various ages including kids!

Fish Cooking Workshop Menu and Process
We will choose different types of fish, which we bought in the morning during our market tour and we will learn various ways of cooking, seasoning and serving it. One of the most important skill sets that you will get during the workshop is carving a fillet out of the whole fish. Each fish has its own structure and demands special approach for the best result.
During the workshop we will prepare different kinds of fish, cooked in different styles: fried fish in a coating, steamed fish in a white wine with vegetables, seared fish fillet, spicy fish and others.
It is important to say that the workshop is based on a team work and cooperation between everyone.
At the end of the workshop, we will sit down to eat a delicious meal, which includes appetizers, main courses, bread, various salads, and drinks.
